Lead Physician and Medical Director
Dr. Dhvanit Vijapura, M.D.
Dr. Dhvanit K. Vijapura, M.D. is Board-Certified in General Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and serves as a Florida DWC Certified Expert Medical Advisor with over 30 years of experience.
For the past decade, he has specialized in Workers’ Compensation and occupational mental health, providing objective, evidence-based assessments that support both patient recovery and claim resolution. His work reflects a nuanced understanding of the complexities of workers’ compensation claims, including conflict of interest, secondary gain, administrative burden, and state-specific legal guidelines, ensuring that every recommendation is clinically sound, defensible, and compliant.
He collaborates with orthopedic surgeons, pain specialists, and local therapists providing CBT to deliver coordinated, functional care. His approach combines psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and functional restoration to help patients return to work safely and sustainably.
As an educator and advocate, Dr. Vijapura regularly attends the Workers’ Compensation Institute (WCI) Annual Conference and remains active in professional forums focused on evidence-based, cost-effective care.
Dr. Vijapura is also familiar with initiatives such as the 2nd Alarm Project, a statewide program that addresses the unique behavioral-health challenges of first responders through trauma-informed care, peer-support training, and access to culturally competent providers. His practice reflects similar principles of confidentiality, cultural understanding, and resilience-based recovery.
Trusted by first responders (Learn more about our approach to First Responders here) and injured workers, he is known for his balanced, compassionate approach and insight into challenges such as loss of work identity and the “hero/helper” mentality common among high-stress professionals. His practice consistently upholds the highest standards of clinical integrity, compliance, and patient care.
